APOLLO-G: NOW is a short retro space probe game about taking the best survey photos you can on a trip outward through a star system (that some might find familiar).

Each world is a high-speed flyby: fight inertia and gravity, spend limited power to hold your aim, and fire the camera when range and alignment line up.

You have one shot per world, so choose wisely when to fire the camera.

A sloppy shot fills your gallery with a weak frame; a clean pass at the right moment gives you a sharp, high-quality image.

The run closes in one of two endings, depending on how well you photographed the mission.

Controls

Arrow keys / WASD  -  thrust the probe (inertial drift; momentum carries when you let go)
Space  -  take a photo
Enter  -  start / confirm
P / ESC  -  pause
X  -  toggle audio

A virtual game pad is provided on touch devices.

Design & Implementation

The game is small on purpose and obviously inspired by old Arcade games from the 80s. Implemented using HTML5 and Javascript using the press-start-2p font and Tailwind as CSS framework. Cursor was used as IDE supported by Claude models, Sound and graphics are procedural.
